What were some of the most memorable moments from the 2017 season? On or off the bike.
The most memorable moment is my crash during the last stage of Millau. It was the perfect weekend, I was riding really well. During that last stage I had my sights on the podium and that crash took it all away. However, despite the disappointment, I was satisfied with my result, 8th position overall. That was my first top-10 in the EWS!
Which race is your favourite?
The Megavalanche at Alpe d’Huez for sure. It’s this huge mix of stress and excitement. The start is just crazy, so many people riding in the snow and trying to stay on their bikes
2000 participants starting up at 3300 metres waiting for the starting call, it’s a really unique atmosphere.
If you could pick anywhere to have a EWS event, where would it be and why?
The great thing about the EWS is that you get to travel and discover whole new fantastic places you’ve never been before. I’d like to discover an east European country like Croatia through the atmosphere of an EWS event.
What are your goals for 2018?
Hard work. Good times on the bike. Getting the best from myself. Representing and wearing the colours of my new team. Making progress. More hard work. And more fun on and off the bike.
Which race are you looking forward to most in 2018?
Colombia! No doubt! A brand-new destination for the EWS, I can’t wait to experience their trails and discover a new culture.
