How has the season gone so far and what are your goals for the second half?
So far, the season has had two tough rounds of racing where I haven’t race at my full potential and then one round where things have come back in line again. For the second half of the season the goal is to get back into a consistent race form that I’ve had previously in my career and continue in the direction of my last race in Madeira.
How important is it to be on a factory team with an active role in bike development?
If you want to do well in a high-level race series like the EWS, then you need the best support and people around you to make that happen. Naturally, with so much riding and demanding racing over a weekend, the bike gets tested beyond what a normal consumer would put it through and that’s where we as racers find any weak areas. It’s part in parcel to developing a reliable and fast bike.
Which of the remaining races are you most excited for and why?
I’m looking forward to Whistler again as I feel like that event is such a classic on the circuit with some extremely tough stages. To do well there would be a real highlight for the season.
Spectral or Strive?
Strive! that bike can handle everything I throw at it and fits me (Race L) perfectly!
