How has the season gone so far and what are your goals for the second half?
The start of the season went absolutely great. With 2nd, 3rd and 4th places in the first three EWS rounds, I am now up to the second spot in the overall rankings. To stay in the top three of the overall is for sure my goal for the rest of the season!
How important is it to be on a factory team with an active role in bike development?
It’s great to work so close together with a race-focused brand like Canyon. We have the perfect support in every respect and have the chance to develop the best bikes and test them in race conditions straight away.
Which of the remaining races are you most excited for and why?
I love the Trans Provence. For me, the 6-day event with blind racing and sleeping out in tents is the ultimate spirit of enduro adventure. For the Enduro World Series, I’m most looking forward to Whistler and Finale Ligure: Loamy Canadian tracks in beautiful British Columbia in August and then Italian beach flair at the European Enduro hotspot in October.
Spectral or Strive?
I have only used the Strive in every race for the last three years. It’s THE enduro weapon.
