What were some of the most memorable moments from the 2017 season? On or off the bike.
When I crossed the finish line at the first round of the EWS in Rotorua, NZ. I was sick the whole night, super weak in the morning, couldn’t eat the whole day and spent eight hours on the bike in really muddy and wet conditions. I never checked the results all day, I was just trying to survive. Crossing the finish line the commentator told me that I was second. That was crazy.
Which race is your favourite?
I loved the race in Tasmania last year. A beautiful country with super friendly and stoked people. Even with the heavy rain the atmosphere of the crowd was unbelievable. Everybody came out to watch, it was so cool!
If you could pick anywhere to have a EWS event, where would it be and why?
I am a big fan of Scandinavia and Iceland. To have an EWS in that landscape would be a banger for sure.
What are your goals for 2018?
I want to push my limits and step forward with my riding skills. For me the most important thing is to improve. And yes sure, I also want to get onto the EWS Podium as much as possible!
Which race are you looking forward to most in 2018?
I’m really excited to go back to Ainsa in Spain. The race three years ago was awesome and I can’t wait to shred in the Pyrenees again.
What’s your favourite bike?
Hmm that’s a hard one. My all-time favourite is the Strive. I have been racing with it for a long time and have so many good memories. But I do also love to ride my Endurace on the road, my Sender and my Stitched. And I love my new Torque. I love them all haha!
