How will you approach 2018 differently to 2017?
For 2018 there is quite a big change and challenge lying ahead for me fulfilling the role as the Team Manager which is my main responsibility for the team. It is something I’ve done before and I really enjoy it, but this is a bit more serious than my previous management roles for sure. Other than that, it is always great to still ride my bike and get the chance to race on a few occasions when it fits with the team.
Which race do you most look forward to?
The Cape Epic is always something I look forward to. It is such a great experience with the team and staff, but also because it takes place on my doorstep. It would be incredible to see Alban and Kristian pull the leaders jerseys over their heads at the end of the eight days.
How do you train off the bike?
I really enjoy running at the moment and even entered to do my first marathon on the 27th of May at Mont Saint-Michel in France.
What element of your setup could you not do without?
My Canyon frame of course! I believe it is the coolest bike brand around and just feel the passion every time I put my leg over it for a bike ride.
Any tips for the rest of us on an effective training session?
If you are a mountain biker then spend as much time as you can on the trails! I also recommend the combination of intervals on climbs going up on gravel and doing your rest phase down a trail.
